Intermediate Knitted Fingerless Mittens Monday, January 8th 3-5pm Fee: $40

In order to take this class, you need to know how to knit in the round on double pointed needles. Supplies needed Worsted Weight Yarn, a set of 4 or 5 inch #7 double pointed needles and a set of 4 or 5 inch #5 double pointed needles.

Sheila will take you step by step through Star Crossed which is the newest version of the tufted footstool. The Kit contains a wood base predrilled and with T-nuts installed (to apply your purchased feet), 18” diameter foam, 1-yard tufting cord, 12” tufting needle, template and complete instruction booklet. Supplies needed: Four fat quarters, ten 2” X WOF strips and basic sewing supplies.

Barn Quilt Painting is a popular, lively class with guided instruction that will take you through the process of painting a Barn Quilt from beginning to completion. You will choose a quilt pattern from dozens offered, or you may bring a favorite (instructor will evaluate the difficulty). You will leave with your own masterpiece, ready for hanging and possibly the inspiration to participate in a Barn Quilt Trail in your neighborhood. All supplies and equipment included. YOU MAY WANT TO BRING A PAINT APRON!

Sew Teach Me Open House Saturday, January 19th 11-4pm Fee: FREEsew-teach-me-logo-final-outlines

Come sign up to be a mentor to a child (8-18). Mentors are required to pay for and pass a criminal background check, be competent sewers and be available to mentor 10 hours.
Children interest in signing up for the Sew Teach Me program will be making a bookmark during the open house.

WVQF Volunteer Mandatory Meeting Monday, January 21st 4-5pm

All volunteers need to come to the meeting. We will be covering positions and the responsibilities that go with them. Volunteers get free entry to the quilt show. Please contact Bolts to Blocks to volunteer.

Join a small group of ladies working on bereavement quilts. These are comfort quilts donated to Good Samaritan Hospital in Albany, Oregon. Fabric has been donated and we just need volunteers to help sewing the quilts together.

Come learn how to traditional English Paper Piece and Embroider. You will need a variety of different fabrics to complete the hexie flower. Please bring at leas 40 – 3″ x 3″ squares to the first class. For the second class you will need green embroidery floss and 2 other colors to complement the hexie flower. Option Itty Bitty Buttons.

Hexie Zipper Pouch Saturday March 2nd 1-5pm Fee: $25

Create a quick zipper pouch with quilted hexagon details in an afternoon. Learn how to glue baste and machine quilt your hexagons to your zipper pouch. This easy project uses mini charm squares for the hexagons. Pattern included with class.

Join Camille Ainsworth for a fun sew along of the Sweet Pea Saddle Bag by Blue Calla Patterns. This is a free pattern and sew along. We’ll meet every Wednesday in April from 6:30-7:30pm for tips and tricks about the pattern and to show our progress. On May 1st we’ll have our reveal party and do show and tell of our completed bags.
